In Washington, the White House and the Metro flooded because of rain
On July 8, such a heavy downpour fell on the US capital Washington, which even flooded the White House.
Some of the streets of Washington were completely flooded, and people were forced to abandon their cars and swim to safe places.
All trains were stopped south of the city. This was reported by the press service of Amtrak, a company specializing in passenger rail traffic.
The subway was also flooded: at some stations, water streams literally plunged from the ceiling.
Even the presidential residence suffered from the weather: the journalists of the press pool of the White House published photos of puddles in their offices.
